BY THE WAY..
this project is actually a game. if you want to play it, just click on the games tab and click the preview.
also, this game is RETIRED now! no new content will be made of it. it's characters may still get content however.
INTRODUCTION
gammas gamer bar was a game developed on roblox from 2021 - 2024, it has over 200 versions and used to be the main thing i worked on. the main point of the game was a chill/hangout game, which for some reason at the time of starting this project i really enjoyed making. i know, bizzare. the game would get many seasonal updates later on developed by purpleplayer, one of my friends.
a main feature of the updates this game would recieve were entirely new custom maps. there were 5 maps created overall. from top being best and bottom being the worst, these are my totally not biased ratings of the maps.
2021: THE BEGINNING
in 2021, around september time, i began modelling a bar based on those "vibe" games i liked at the time. of course being 2021, it kind of sucked. so i scrapped it. however, a few days later i remembered the game, and began to work on it again.
i recall at this time the game was VERY basic, the only "cool interesting" thing was the purple lighting and old roblox wood texture for the floor... which i all stole from other games. yeah. besides, i was actually making something that wasnt awful! i was able to quickly build the original map for a release on september 17th (what the hell, that was quick...)
fun fact, even back then i thought the name "gammas gamer bar" was extremely cringe and unoriginal. it sounded "like reddit" to me at the time yet i couldn't think of any other things to rhyme with gamma. i don't believe i thought of just not rhyming.
then... i published the game. that was it, new game. at the time, i didnt think that this game would take over my life at the time, so i really just posted it in a few discord servers i was in and said "hey, if you wanna play this, its here."
and thats it.
and that was the end of gammas gamer bar
thats it.
go home.
...
......
just kidding, i then proceeded to update the game regularly with new maps and gags being added along with the sword fighting room, a tradition on these maps. everything was great however the game was still AWFUL though.
if you cant tell, i decided to lock in really hard for no particular reason other than for the love of the game.
for some reason, i dont know why, but i started to just PUMP OUT these updates, too an insane degree. i honestly think i may have not been okay. slowly updates would come to a crawl as i began to not enjoy the game... this is because it had:
so i decided i needed to change this.
2022: THE GOOD ONE
2022 was the best year for gammas gamer bar in terms of updates and content.
in 2022, i was able to push out two entirely new maps, new secrets, new music composed by myself, which even if it wasnt very good was a very welcome addition, and for once, quality. unlike 2021, i was somewhat of a competent artist by this point. around may time, i felt that the map was getting old. the reasons were that my building skills had improved dramatically since september of 2021. i also had many ideas for a new map, such as the bar now being at the seaside / hilltop overlooking a giant bridge due to being in a summer feeling.
and i got to work, finishing the map for late july of 2022, having purpleplayer code a gag vending machine that launches food at you so powerfully it launches you to the other side of the room.
it was an improvement. i was happy with this for a bit, the space was open and it was easy to see whats going on. the vibes were good and the modeling was actually alright.
... and then my summer feeling went away and i realised that "hey, i dont really like large spaces."
this is the part where i reveal that the map lasted for like 2 weeks.
looking back this map was great, it had everything that anyone could want, i just didn't like it. i got back to work AGAIN and made probably my favourite map, leaving this one to be forgotten about.
honestly.. i kind of miss this one.
this was the most packed update of all. an entirely new map, an unhealthy amount of references for something trying to stand on its own, cool gui stuff and more. after this version i began to lose a lot of motivation to actually work on the series. into 2023, updates slowed and got smaller and smaller. eventually, after the halloween update, i was editing the map for an egg hunt and realised i kind of hated working with the new map. similar to the first one it was not very well built.
speaking of, the halloween and thanksgivings updates were the best of gammas gamer bars history. scripted entirely by purpleplayer, the halloween update had a minigame where you'd kill ghosts and ghouls with swords, and a treasure hunt scripted by me. (well not really, go my freemodels.) on the other hand, the thanksgivings event had you try to collect as many turkeys as possible and group them into pens. afterwards, the only "large" events were things like valentines day where the map was more pink. how lovely. and that was it. no more updates. this was the end.
gamma's gamer bar became a great place for me to put down my ideas and ORIGINAL CHARACTERS OH BOY. you can find them in the art tab. i didn't really know where to put this. it's just the characters of gamma's gamer bar will be seen all over the game. hell you can see them right there. so yeah. lala.
2023: WHY IS IT STILL GOING.
this year saw a slow in updates, however ultimately still had a lot of things made. the most notable things are:
honestly, theres not much to write about here. i made a new map and added some funny things. the new map is really nothing much to write home about, its mostly just a cafe, a big hill and a beach that was usually never even used. it was at this point when i really didn't want to continue making this series, as it was annoying and kind of pointless. nobody was playing the games, why even try? so for once i focused on other projects, eventually making my first bugbo video. my whole life from that point on spiraled since that single video. ive come a long way.
anyways, this map took a very long time. too long. it took so long that in the time gamma's gamer bar's first map would've been done, i wouldve been able to build one small section of the map. yeah, i was burnt out. after the bugbo videos gained an audience i dropped gamma's gamer bar.
i made one final update in 2023, the christmas update. the lore went that gamma for some reason put his bar right next to an avalanche, and santa decided to do some lovely festive shitting about and forced everyone into a cabin. this map was meant to be a little "in-between" so i could get the next map up and running.
the map stayed that way for 7 months.
2024: THE LAST MAP
here we are. this map is easily the largest map of them all:
it's now 2025, and back in november i decided that the game was completed. i didn't want to make any more maps and my interest was as low as can be. it'd been that way for a long time. i still do have very fond memories of back when i was making ggb however. i wouldnt change a thing.
thanks to everyone who helped make this game while it was actively being created. you helped a lot :D and that's that. GO HOME.
